Hydration

Once upon a time, not so long ago (and even still today sometimes), humans like us drank water straight from streams, lakes and ponds like this one.  The water traveled through miles of plant and mineral rich pristine areas that were untainted by industry and chemical pollution.  Our bodies grew up on this planet accustomed to water that had dirt and plant minerals and that had been fully aerated by nature.

Now, we are drinking water that has been filtered or distilled by machines, or ultra violet radiation, or reverse osmosis filters. The water is “harvested” from ground water sources, filtered, purified, or distilled, and trucked miles and miles in plastic containers.  Now, this water is completely devoid of any plant minerals, and is therefore unrecognized by our bodies which have evolved to drink mineral rich waters.  Therefore, most of these kinds of waters are no longer hydrating us.  In fact, it is known that drinking distilled water can leech minerals and nutrients from your body, as the water is an incredible solvent and simply absorbs nutrients from you for elimination.  In many places now, water is becoming more and more scarce and is spawning world-wide debates and sometimes warfare.  What can we do?

EDUCATION

Many hydration resources on the web talk about electrolytes as being the key to good hydration.  What are electrolytes?  Technically electrolytes are any ionic substance floating around in water, in other words, anything dissolved in water.  This is a very general term which encompasses everything from white iodized salt to mineral rich plants and soils.  However, huge conglomerate corporations like Pepsico uses this information to market its own “Hydration” beverage known as “Gatorade”.  Of course, many in the sports and health worlds now know that the refined sugars and salts that are found in Gatorade do not aid but in fact deter hydration.  Though these processed chemicals are technically “electrolytes”, they are not recognized by our bodies cells and often have the effect of squeezing water out of the cells in a process known as cellular osmosis.  It is suprising how many common ailments in our world, especially those suffered by athletes, are mostly a result of poor hydration.

How to Get Hydrated?

If you are drinking water that is filtered or purified in any way, you will want to start getting into the habit of adding mineral sources back into the water.  You can use something as simple as a teabag (with the right herbs of course, such as Rooibos or mint) or salt or lemon juice.  There are also many products today which are can help hydration … Reddrox, Cell Food, MSM, Crystal Energy and MegaHydrate.

What is Alkaline Water?

Many artesian wells and very pure water sources have a naturally alkaline water.  H2O is inherently neutral of PH, however, because of the purification processes taking out many essential minerals in the water, most bottled water is slightly acidic.  And most tap water, because it has been adulterated with chlorine and or fluoride, is highly acidic.  Most people, because of the over-consumption of processed foods, are very acidic already.  Acidity in the body can lead to chronic ailments, poor digestion, sluggishness, and many other common symptoms.  Bio-chemically, this happens because acid rich body fats tend to absorb toxins rather than eliminate them. Drinking alkaline water can aid dramatically in re-alkalizing the body and thus detoxifying the body fat.  Sometime even one sip of alkalized water can reverse symptoms immediately.  To get alkaline water, look into the following companies … Kangan, Jupiter Melody, or Erom Zion.  Most of these machines are very comparable to each other.

Save our Water!

Please spread this information.  Most people don’t know that water is the most vital part of our health.  And if you are into Dr. Emoto and the phenomenon about water crystals, then you can appreciate that since our bodies are made up of mostly water we too are sensitive to energy and intention around us.  Next time you buy water or drink water, consider where it has been, and say a little prayer for the waters of the world.
